Disneyland

Following the success of the Tower of Terror at the Disney-MGM Studios/Hollywood Studios, Disney decided to create another version of the Tower of Terror and place it in the struggling California Adventure part of Disneyland. The new version would differ in a few respects from the original version at Walt Disney World. First, the exterior design would be different. In addition, the ride system would be altered to behave differently than the ride system at the Studios.

These changes separate the two attractions somewhat while still maintaining the distinct thrill that only the Tower of Terror could provide. The Tower of Terror in Disneyland officially opened its doors on May 5, 2004 and has become a major success at the park and its popularity paved the way for other Disney Parks around the world to receive their own versions of this attraction.
